Has anything proven to be more futile than voting for the Democratic Party? When the Republicans win, they govern. When the Democrats win, they pass legislation penned by Republicans.
GHWB couldn't pass NAFTA; Bill Clinton did it for him, then slashed welfare for his own base.
Instead of codifying Roe V Wade as he promised when he had a super majority AND control of the house, Obama passed the Heritage Foundation's healthcare plan, notably passed by Mitt Romney when he was governor of MA. Also bank bailouts but no prosecutions, Simpson-Bowles, the Super Committee, bombing even more countries...
If the Democrats fought the GOP half as hard as they fight their own base, maybe they'd win more often.
What's the obsession with WFP? They are outliers, yes, they can win a district leaders race, or, maybe an Assembly or Senate race, not players on the policy side. The Democratic Party has moved from "defund the police" to gun laws and crime prevention, If there is a rising star it might be Delgado, an Afro-Latino with Congressional experience, a plus for Hochul, an excellent campaigner. Hochul spent seven years as an anonymous Lt Gov, not Delgado.
One would think a pro-Trump, pro-gun, pro-life Republican will not play well in this climate: will the RNC pour $$ into Zeldin;s campaign?
Will her lovefest with the legislature continue?
While Heastie has a firm, very firm handle on the Assembly, Stuart-Cousins may have more of a tussle with her members and Hochul has to be the Big Dog in the room ..... and ... if the economy slides it might not be as much fun trimming this and that .....
The battle for Brooklyn County Leader should be "fun," all the factions of the Democratic P:arty will be in the mud pit ... there are stories within stories ... if Bichotte steps down is there a successor?

Because they are as close as one can come in America to a political party that isn't completely terrible and/or completely ineffectual.
