Hey Stefen. By fascist I mean an authoritarian government that works hand-in-hand with the largest corporations in that country. By this definition fascism is on the corporatist spectrum. ItтАЩs just that in this brand of corporatism, the (dictatorial) government always maintains control and has the final say whenever it decides to intervene. People like to equate HitlerтАЩs Naziism with fascism, but IтАЩve always felt it was more a brand of racial socialism with a few fascistic features added for window-dressing. Naziism was always тАЬleftтАЭ at its core. This fact has been almost universally obscured since the end of the war forтАж reasons. Modern China has moved away from communist-socialism in the direction of leftist-fascism in its dedicated effort to catch up to the West and make itself great. Xi is a dictator, Chinas companies are given mostly free rein to grow and make huge profits, always with party eyes watching for necessary interventions and advantage - maintaining final say. Jack Ma soared too high and had his wings clipped. Party/Leader 1st, capitalism 2nd, but all in the service of the State. Fascism. ThatтАЩs my view at least.
Actually I would say China is almost the dictionary definition of a true fascist state - much more so than it is communist at this point.
Ancient comment, but what do you mean by "fascist" in this sentence? Right-wing authoritarian? Right-wing illiberal? Something else?
