Zodiac is a literary creation of author Robert Greysmith and Velejo (?) county sheriff Hal Snook. None of the five canonical Zodiac murders have any physical evidence in common, and Greysmith lied about the evidence situation in his two books. Greysmith worked at the SF Chronicle and had full access to the phony letters. All of this was done to GIN UP sales of the SF Chronicle

Doerr is more laughable than Ross Sullivan, Bill Andrew or Arthur Allen, and they're among the worst Zodiac suspects out there. Doerr makes Ted Kaczyński look like a realistic suspect.
I read many comic books and westerns in childhood, I read true crime in elementary school, and I constructed functioning explosives before I was 10. Look, I'm already a better suspect than Doerr!
But this Kobek fellow certainly bought out a lot of advertising for his _maculature_. Its best and most convincing part is certainly the pasted mustache. However, why stop there? Zodiac listened to Groucho Marx, so go wild, Kobek, glue an entire Groucho Marx on Doerr's face. The plastic mustache, the plastic nose AND the plastic eyeglasses. Voilà, mesdames et messieurs, ZODIAC!
