As a leftist I'm not aligned with Eric politically but I appreciate how little he cares about questions like whether or not he eats fish. It scares me a little because I know this kind of quality of not giving a ---- is what endears Trump to the right.
There is something attractive to voters about people like this and it's why I think Eric may be President one day.
You say a lot about the quality of journalism, more interested in “clicks” than reporting… more interested in minutia than major issues: the 9% unemployment rates, the retail store vacancy rate, the impact of the end of the rent freeze, the pedestrian fatality rate, major issues that impact the lifeblood of the city instead of the gotcha moment. Has journalism lost its way?

I disagree with him a lot but Ross Barkan is a very skilled reporter and writer.
